2023 50m Grand Prix 4
26 and 27 August
Results
The GP4 weekend took place at Denwood range, Aberdeen on 26th and 27th August 2023.
3P Grand Prix 4
The 3P was on the Saturday and involved 2 athletes from nearly the furthest reaches of the UK. Lloyd Collins-Page from Havant and Bobby Spence from Orkney.
The weather was fairly kind with just an odd shower of rain. It was good enough for Lloyd to set a new PB with a qualification score of 568.
The final was a close run event with Bobby leading until the end of the prone but the standing proved more challenging for him and Lloyd opened a good lead to win the final with a score of 444.2.
For the Series Points table this means that Bobby is now 6 points behind Tom Diggle with one GP to go.
Prone Grand Prix 4
On Sunday, the Prone GP took place but the wind picked up compared to Saturday and was blowing right to left across the range. The wind caused frequently changing light and, combined, made for some tricky conditions.
The class winners in each class were
Class A:
1st Fiona Crowden
2nd Lloyd Collins-Page
3rd Bobby SpenceClass B:
1st Chris Stirling
2nd David Strachan
3rd Gad HabibyClass C:
1st Tom Ralph (PB)
2nd Annabel Aitken
3rd Amanda PuchallaClass D:
1st Aleyna Kartal,
2nd Junsung Kim
3rd Lawrence Cooper
In the C&D Final:
1st Thomas Ralph
2nd Annabel Aitken
3rd Amanda Puchalla
In the A&B Final:
The A&B final was a close run thing, including a shoot-off for 6th place. I was surprised that there were not more shoot-offs as there was often only 0.1 separating the athletes.
In the end the result was a follows:
1st Cliff Ogle
2nd Chris Stirling
3rd Bobby Spence
Talking of points, it looks like Cliff Ogle and Bobby Spence will be shooting GP5 to decide the A&B series winner and in the C&D series Tom Ralph has a 9 point lead ahead of Amanda Puchalla who is 2 points ahead of David Thompson.
PDF's of the results are below and these include the points tables so far.
