Two pistol shooters, Caroline Brownlie and Alan Goodall, attended the GB nominated ‘NISC and Geoff Partridge Memorial’ on 21 and 22 January 2017. The competition took place in Aldersley (Wolverhampton) which preceded Bisley as the National Shooting Centre for airguns. The weekend’s programme included a competition in memory of Geoff Partridge.
The championship match was an open event so both men and women competed side by side. Caroline Brownlie and Alan Goodall both made it into the final, and after a tightly fought battle, Caroline was the eventual winner while Alan won the Geoff Partridge Memorial competition.
In winning the ladies competition, Caroline notched up her second score of the year (and equalling her personal best of 382/400) to meet the minimum consideration for selection to the Scottish team for next year's Commonwealth Games in the Gold Coast. In addition, Caroline is also now ranked first in Air Pistol for Great Britain, a tremendous achievement and marks a great January for Scottish pistol shooting and her personally.
As an aside, both Caroline and Alan also received positive comments that they looked very smart in their Scottish Target Shooting kit and both shooters are extremely proud to see Scottish Target Shooting taking 1st and 2nd places.
