Jess's first match was 10m Air on Sius Ascor e-targets. She scored a credible 372 which put her into the final. Jess was up against stiff competition from Bulgarian athlete Antoaneta Boneva, a double Olympian! The tense final finished with Jess in second place behind Boneva with a score of 234.7, pipping the Scottish record by 0.5, giving Jess the silver medal.
Her second competition was 25m Sport Pistol in which Boneva was also competing. Precision series went well finishing on a score of 287. From this score Jess added a great Rapid score of 288 finishing on 575 - 5 points ahead of the Commonwealth MCS, putting her in third position. Next came new territory for GB women in the form of the Sport Pistol final which the athlete scores a point for each shot exceeding 10.1. With the new finals format this year, Jess was the first GB athlete to try them out and finished with 22 hits and 5th place in her first ever Sport Pistol final.
