Our partners, Safeguarding in Sport, have issued a briefing paper on the Limitation (Child Abuse) (Scotland) Bill 2017 which has been passed by the Scottish Government. The legislation removes the previous time restrictions on when an individual may seek civil compensation from an organisation, for abuse experienced as a result of the organisation's action or inaction.
As a result of the Bill being enacted, there will be implications for all organisation working with children and young people, most notably around insurance and data retention.
