The second Trap leg of the British Shooting Shotgun Series took place Fauxdegla Premier Shooting Ground in Wrexham over the weekend of 19 and 20 May 2018.
Building on the success of the British Shooting Grand Final 2017, the Shotgun Series is designed to provide a really exciting and inspirational competition series for all shotgun shooters across the UK, culminating in what will be another fantastic Grand Final event in 2018.
The Series consists of three 'rounds' which will allow shooters to qualify for the end-of-season Grand Final event. Each round, and the Grand Final itself, will also be the principal domestic events considered by the British Shooting Shotgun Selection Panel for selection for GB teams for major events.
Scottish Shooters performed well with Sharon Niven winning a Silver Medal in the Women’s Trap equalling the Scottish Record with a score of 39 in the final.
Allan Ritchie scored 66/75 on Day 1 and Day 2s started well with a 24, followed by a 22 giving him a total of 112/125 which was a new personal best, New British Record and a New Scottish Record. Unfortunately there were no para-medals available at the competition but this result saw Alan securing second place in D Class.
