STS has received some guidance from sportscotland with regards COVID-19 (Coronavirus) so we want to share this for your own health and to help limit the spread of the virus as much as possible. CGF Announce India to Host Commonwealth Archery and Shooting Championships in 2022
On Monday 27 February, the Commonwealth Games Federation (CGF) officially confirmed that a Commonwealth Archery and Shooting Championships will take place in India in 2022 after a proposal to stage the event was approved by the CGF Executive Board at their meeting in London which took place on February 21-23. The Board highlighted the opportunity for this innovative model to promote and encourage the development and hosting of sport throughout the Commonwealth.
STS Membership for 2020 Now Available!
STS is pleased to confirm that individual members and member clubs are able to sign up for membership for 2020 as of 2nd December. STS Membership for 2020 comes with the same packages and benefits that proved popular in 2019 but has now introduced a reduced membership for individuals with a disability. The club memberships that have proved popular last year are also unchanged, with the Club Reward Scheme and added benefits for clubs signing up 90% or more of their active shooting membership also returning in 2020.

STS Performance Programme Now Open for 2019-20 Applications
STS is pleased to announce that it is now accepting applications for the 2019-20 Performance Programme. Athletes currently not on the programme are able to apply using the link in this article which will take them to the selection policy and online application form. Existing athletes will be contacted by the Performance & Pathways Manager. Applicatons from all athletes must be submitted by 15 September.
Home Office Launch Consultation on Proposed Statutory Guidance to the Police on their Firearms Licensing Functions
The introduction of statutory guidance is designed to improve consistency across the UK in police firearms licensing. The draft guidance sets out the checks that should be made, the weight to be given to the evidence and the factors that need to be taken into account. The consultation started on 23rd July and will remain open for eight weeks, finishing on 17 September 2019.

STS Confirms Rescheduled 2019 Target Shooting Coaching Conference
STS is pleased to confirm details for its rescheduled Target Shooting Coaching Conference, which will now take place on Saturday 5 October at Perth College. The conference open to coaches from across the UK, with STS members getting a 25% discounted delegate rate and STS junior members getting 50% off. The day will focus on the Olympic disciplines and features a mix of sport specific and generic workshops with the ambition of stimulating some exciting discussions and the sharing of ideas and good practice. Birmingham Announces Additional Sports for 2022 - Shooting Not Included
Birmingham 2022 organisers and the CGF Executive Board have announced the additional sports selected for the 2022 Commonwealth Games in Birmingham, and shooting sports have not been included with both target shooting and archery missing out. Instead, the optional sports of Beach Volleyball, Women's Cricket and Para Table Tennis have been added.

Jennifer Ross Joins STS Staffing Team
STS is delighted to confirm the appointment of Jennifer Ross to the STS staffing team in the role of Performance & Pathways Manager. Jennifer previously carried out the role on a contracted basis but with support from sportscotland secured for the next 2 years, STS made this an employed position and is delighted to confirm Jennifer’s appointment to continue the good work already underway.
